Our Team

Our team

At Dr. Bo's Diet Center, few things are more important to us than providing our patients with the most exceptional care. In order to do so, we have built a comprehensive group including Medical, Nutritional, Psychological and Support Staff teams. Together, we are dedicated to helping our patients every step along their weight-management journey.

Medical Staff

The Medical Staff is comprised of Doctors, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners. Working together, this highly trained and certified staff of medical professionals evaluates each patient's needs in order to create a specific treatment plan within our program. Upon entering our program, every patient will meet one-on-one with a member of the medical staff. This ensures that there will always be a medical provider intimately aware of the details surrounding each patient's medical history. Armed with this information, patients can begin the program with confidence, knowing that all aspects of their well-being are accounted for.

Nutritional Staff

A team of Nutritionists, Dietitians and Counselors are responsible for offering our patients the support and guidance required throughout this collective endeavor. The Nutritional Staff work individually with our patients to monitor, problem solve and counsel them through this journey. They understand that every patient possesses the ability to accomplish his weight related goals and that their role is key in providing the foundation of knowledge necessary to translate into long-term success. Our private, one-on-one consultations deal with a wide array of obstacles from stress-management techniques to identifying and understanding environmental challenges, nutritional education, and lifelong maintenance tools. Together, these challenges are faced head-on to achieve significant weight-loss and weight-management forever.

Psychological Staff

In addition to our medical and nutritional teams, we offer both individual and group counseling sessions with licensed clinical social workers, and psychologists. The ability to lose weight is primarily nutritional. However, the ability to maintain a healthy weight in the long term usually requires a focus on the non-nutritional and non-medical related obstacles as well. The focus for this team is primarily on our relationship with food to aid patients with their struggle around emotional overeating, habitual eating, binging, and other environmental or emotional variables that interfere with our long-term goals.

Support Staff

The Support Staff is responsible for making sure that all of the efforts of the Medical and Nutritional staff come together seamlessly. Their attention to detail allows our patients to receive the highest level of care. Whether preparing patients, scheduling appointments, answering frequently asked questions, or handling the multitude of tasks that arise throughout the day, our Support Team is diligently working to attend to the needs of each patient.

The History Behind Dr. Bo’s Diet

After many years of practice in Emergency Medicine it became evident to Dr. Bo Rosenblat that obesity is a major contributor to many disease processes such as diabetes, hypertension, elevated cholesterol, heart disease and back pain. He recognized that many healthcare professionals were unable to give their patients adequate help in achieving their health goals through proper diet and exercise.

Most doctors would simply tell their patients that they had to lose weight without giving them the proper tools to do so. The knowledge deficit relating to proper nutrition is largely due to the fact that traditional medical school training does not emphasize the importance of a good diet in achieving health. While Eastern medicine emphasizes keeping the body healthy, Western medicine focuses on treating pathologic conditions.

“We have become so focused on putting out the fires of disease, we often forget to treat the root of the problem and prevent these diseases from ever emerging. In fact, research has found that a properly designed diet program leads to longevity over and above the benefit that would be expected from simply reducing disease states such as diabetes, hypertension and heart disease."

Dr. Bo Rosenblat

With this information Dr. Bo created a program with the premier goal of maintaining weight loss long-term, while still catering to the human desire for instant gratification, through rapid and safe weight loss in the short-term.
